As an experienced architectural interiors photographer, Ivan Lee was commissioned to photograph a private residence in South Yarra that lighting designer Ilan El had installed one of his designs.

Great wine bottle photography is an important part of marketing and creating a look for any winery. IJ Productions was commissioned by Mornington Peninsula Winery Quealy because of our expertise in product photography and having produced exceptional images for other wineries in Australia.
Quealy Winemaker Kathleen wanted a series of new images for their new website, She wanted images that were dark and moody but still show the label. Lighting was the key to getting the mood right, a single light source with a soft gradient. We had tried a few different set-ups including a simple grey plinth for the single bottles but in the end we decided on painted grey wooden panels for the flooring.
In the end we had photographed 24 individual bottles and 9 group photos.
This has been our 3rd year we have photograph the range of Bridal wear for Melbourne based wedding gown specialist Belle Et Blanc. Our previous photo shoot was on location at Albert Park but this time we decided on a simpler studio shoot.

We created a series of images for CouchBuddy.com.au to promote their range of couch covers aimed a pet owners. The client wanted the product insitu and creating a room set in the studio was easier than finding the right house. We wanted a large light source to mimic daylight our artificial light source was 2x profoto strobes into a Westcott 7 foot parabolic umbrella and 150cm Creative light soft box.

Yarra Valley Wine Maker Al Francaros contacted Ivan Lee to photograph Allinda Winery’s redesigned wine bottles.
There were a few challenges to photographing their latest label design because of the gold foil and embossing. We had to mix hard lights for the embossing and soft gradient lights for the gold foil. The series of images are to be used on their latest website and for other advertising and promotional purposes.

Earlier this year VICROADS unveiled a new customer service centre in Melbourne CBD. Ivan was commissioned to photograph the talent in the studio for their large window display and interiors of the newly developed space.

The crew flew up to the Sunshine Coast from Melbourne. We all stayed at Magic Malindi and spent a day photographing around the property and in the house. The next day before heading to the airport we stopped by a beach near Sunshine Coast Airport.
It’s the first time we have photographed a collection for Vigorella out of Victoria, it had to be done because with fashion we always photograph 1 season ahead (in winter we photograph the summer range and in summer we photograph the winter range).
The size of these heads is just a bit larger than the Profoto B1, The battery life also lasted just as long as the Profoto unit. The issues I had with the Priolite was the radio trigger not hyper syncing on the Canon 5D MKII- sync speed maxed out at 1/200th sec. I also used the same trigger on the Hasselblad via a sync lead connected to the radio trigger, it didn’t work so well because the trigger doesn’t sit into the H4D hotshot and kept falling off; a simple radio trigger would have sorted out that problem but it wasn’t supplied this time.
As mainly a Profoto and Elinchrom user, I didn’t have many Bowens mount modifiers but I did have a Bowens to Elinchrom adapter which didn’t work so well because it made the flash tube sit further back and it was black. It felt like I lost at least a 1 stop of power when using the 60×90 soft box compared to using the same soft box with the Elinchrom BXRI500.
Overall I thought the Priolite battery powered location lighting kit was very capable worth considering for photographers who use the Bowens mount system (Bowens, Chinese made lights, Hensel).

The Wine makers for Boy Meets Girl wanted a dynamic and slightly different image for their website and promotional material.

As a Specialist Wine Bottle and Product Photographer, Trentham Wines contacted Ivan to photograph their latest range of wines in the studio.
Ivan had the task of creating 5 hero images for use in their advertising and promotional material. Styling props were collected and sets were painted before hand.

His latest project is a 13 metre Art deco chandelier in the Royal Bank Chambers building on Collins Street in Melbourne CBD combing Egyptian and Japanese influences.
