- 16bit Image Capture. When compared to DSLRs that only capture images at 10-14bit the images from the digital medium format have a greater tonal range.
- Larger Sensor. the 49mmx36mm sensor is twice the size of any full frame DSLR which is only 36mmx24mm.
- Leaf Shutter lenses. the Hasselblad HC series lenses sync to flash at up to 1/800th of a sec compared to DSLRs that have a maximum sync speed of 1/200th

Hasselblad HC 50-110mm /3.5-4.5 zoom lens has a range from wide-angle to short telephoto. This lens boasts exceptionally high image quality at all focal lengths, whether shooting film or digital, and is comparable with corresponding fixed focal length lenses.
