Electro Shock Therapy room. Patients would be tied to the metal bed frame. Psychics have described seeing a man hiding under the bed.

Established in 1867 as one of three major asylums in the state of Victoria, the hospital operated for almost 130 years until its closure in 1995. During this time it grew to incorporate 57 buildings spread across a 200 acre site, at its peak accommodating over 1,200 patients. Close to 9000 patients died on site making this one of Australia’s most haunted locations.

  1. Some great photo’s of a truly haunting (at times) experience. Makes us cringe to see these conditions that were once accepted as the norm. Adam and Sharon do a good job wth the tour and it is a highlight on the calendar for anyone visiting the town.

  2. Just a quick correction guys, The J.Kelly is James Kelly known as Ned’s Uncle Jim, not Joe.. Great photos.

  3. wow! Great pics! Paranormal stuff really interests me! But i would be rather scared to go to these places. Best just to research and watch programmes on it, eh? Anyway, great job! :D
